Football Analyst Chris Sutton Faces Off Against Artist Olly Murs in Top Flight Forecasts
Arsenal's 10-game victorious streak came to an end by the Black Cats before the global hiatus, but will the Premier League leaders recover against north London rivals Tottenham this Sunday?
"{I believe like Arsenal are light years ahead of Tottenham at the moment but Spurs manager Thomas Frank will have a strategy for this game," remarked soccer expert Chris Sutton.
"Frank will try to neutralize Arsenal, who have not always been at their sparkling finest this season - but Mikel Arteta's side usually still manage to win."
Sutton is forecasting results for all 380 Premier League fixtures this season, against artificial intelligence, fans and a range of special visitors.
For the twelfth round, he takes on singer Olly Murs, who is a United supporter.
Murs' new record, the new release, is available on the weekend.
Soccer and Parenting Experiences
Olly is a skilled footballer as well as a accomplished singer and has been a featured player of multiple charity football matches over time - but he is not intending a professional return as a footballer.
"{I recently played in a benefit game the other night for a mate of mine," he said. "My team was losing 3-1 when I came off in the 60th minute, and they proceeded to win 4-3, so you can read into that what you want!
"I still love football, but I injured my joint a few years ago and it still isn't where I want it to be. I hope I could play more but the unpredictability of the sport means it's too dangerous for me in my profession to do it seriously again.
"Plus I am forty-one now, and we are not all Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very happy not playing football and I am gearing up for the moment that my daughter or son chooses to play instead."
Murs and his spouse his partner have two children, Madison and Albert, and he is ready to follow in his father's footsteps by taking on the role of their coach.
"I will not push football on our kids but I've already told my wife that if they happen to get the passion for it then I will have to go and get my manager qualifications - and I will likely be coaching their Saturday football side," he added.
"I watched my nephews play a lot, and I truly got into it, and I obviously was involved with a soccer team for a period too.
"My dad coached with us when I was a child, which is probably where I get it from. He managed our team for several years and had great fun with it. That might be the future for me as well, and I am excited to it!"
Premier League Predictions
Weekend, 22 November
- Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT
Chelsea may have to wait a bit longer for Cole Palmer's return from injury but their attack is already stronger with Pedro and Liam Delap both returned to fitness.
In my opinion this game will be quite close, though. The Clarets are disciplined and their only at Turf Moor defeats so far have been against Liverpool and the Gunners.
This smells of a 1-1 tie to me, but I am in fact going to choose the London side to win narrowly for what would be their third consecutive Premier League win in a row.
Sutton's prediction: 1-2
Olly's prediction: The Blues will be too strong. 1-3
Artificial intelligence's prediction: 0-2
- Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT
The Cherries have lost their past two matches - albeit both of them were on the road - but they got thoroughly beaten by Villa last time out which shocked me.
On the other hand, West Ham won two in a row before the hiatus and, although both of those fixtures were at home, they do look strong again.
West Ham's only away win this season came at Forest in August, when their manager Nuno Espirito Santo was still Forest coach.
Therefore, what on earth do I go with here - will it be the Hammers extending their run under Nuno, or Bournemouth bouncing back?
I am going to go with the Cherries, because I believe what happened against Villa was a anomaly.
Sutton's forecast: 2-0
Olly's outlook: Bournemouth are doing well but West Ham have improved under their boss. 2-2
AI's prediction: 1-1
- Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT
Brentford were considered one of the frontrunners for the drop before the season began, but they have impressed a several observers under their manager and are in good form with three in their last four games.
A family member told me to select Bees striker Thiago in my Fantasy Football squad a few weeks ago and, guess what, I didn't listen.
Thiago will probably score again on the weekend but I am still not going to select him or back Brentford at Amex Stadium.
They have not had much success on the road this term, and the Seagulls are consistently strong at their stadium. Brentford will attempt to attack on the break but I feel Fabian Hurzeler's team carry much more of a threat.
The analyst's prediction: 2-1
Olly's prediction: It could be a match where you expect there is going to be a many scores but it actually turns out to be rather close. 1-1
The computer's outcome: 2-1
- Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT
This is a huge game for Fulham, who have lost five of their last six matches.
Fulham have got lots of talent in their squad but it nonetheless seems like they could be dragged into a relegation battle.
As for Sunderland, well they are the unexpected success of the Premier League season so far.
Their display in the two-all draw with the Gunners last time out was superb. We've not witnessed any other team rough up the North London side like that this term, and they were fully competitive for them.
The sensible thing would be to support the visitors here, because they are clearly capable of roughing the hosts up too and, the last time they were in this part of London, they defeated the Blues at the end of last month.
But I am not going to choose that. Rather, I really need to continue going against Sunderland with my forecasts. I am claiming a lot of responsibility for their good results because they clearly love to defy my predictions.
Looking at Fulham's home record, the sole side they have lost to is the league leaders. Their manager's side will be extremely desperate for a positive outcome, so I am going to predict they will secure three much-needed points.
The expert's forecast: 1-0
The guest's choice: I know the visitors are doing well and also that Fulham are on a poor streak... but they have nonetheless been decent at home this season. 2-0
The algorithm's outlook: 2-0

This is a tough fixture to call. Liverpool have lost seven of their last ten games in every tournament, but might they be one of the sides who benefit from the {international break|
