I will dominate 'legitimate combatant' Jake Paul - Joshua
Anthony Joshua prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight round fight which will be shown live on Netflix.
British boxer Joshua stated he will "dominate completely" the American and "defeat" his opponent as the pair confronted each other to promote next month's bout.
Former two time unified heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua battles social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, on paper, a huge uneven pairing - at Miami Kaseya Center on December 19th.
Boxer's Mentality
"I will injure his face and damage his physique. I aim to demonstrate I'm superior," Joshua, 35, declared.
"I plan to overwhelm him. That's a fighter's mentality.
"I intend to seriously aim to cause him pain. That's my intention."
Civil Interaction
Despite such comments, a calm Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - normally recognized for his showmanship - exchanged pleasantries and kept it respectful with each other.
Jake Paul rather criticized ex Joshua's opponent the Cameroonian fighter and described him as "not serious" after Ngannou turned down a match opportunity.
Taking Aim at Tyson Fury
Joshua, meanwhile, criticized British rival Fury - and refused a £1m bet 'The Gypsy King' says he will place on a Paul victory.
"[Paul] is better than Tyson Fury - he showed up," Joshua said.
"I acknowledge that."
Legitimate Opponent
In spite of declaring he will damage his opponent, Anthony Joshua refused to comment unfavorably about his rival's boxing ability.
"Jake Paul is a credible opponent," he said.
Jake Paul's Background
Jake Paul - who originally gained popularity on the television network - has mainly fought mixed martial artists or declining opponents since becoming pro.
He was defeated by British fighter Fury in last year.
Financial Success
Nevertheless, the novice is still one of the sport's largest commercial attractions, frequently receiving massive financial rewards.
Forecast and Confidence
The 28-year-old forecast a knockout win in rounds four or five and asserted he would derail the long-awaited match between Joshua and Fury, which is apparently being planned for 2026.
"It will be my match with Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul stated.
Size Disparity
As the two fighters met for the traditional face-off, with their physical disparity evident, it highlighted just how unlikely this whole event is - and how astonishing it is that the fight is actually happening.
