Jurgen Klopp admits a return to manage Liverpool is conceivable.

Jurgen Klopp, who left Liverpool in 2024, remarked that a future comeback remains an option. The 58-year-old, post a game-changing nine-season tenure that included a European Cup triumph and the Premier League crown for three decades, now holds roles overseeing worldwide football for Red Bull and as an advisor with the German Football League.

Supporters’ Hopes and Klopp’s Candid Remarks

The club claimed the Premier League in the previous campaign, though countless followers who revere Klopp would be thrilled by the idea that he might come back one day. During an extensive chat, he told Steven Bartlett: ā€œI said I will never coach a different club within the country. Which implies in case it's my former club...yeah. In theory, it could happen.ā€

ā€œI’m 58, that means the choice could be mine down the line, who knows. Is a decision required immediately? If so, I wouldn't return. Luckily, I don’t have to do that. I can just see what the future brings.ā€

What Would Lure Him Back?

Pressed on what circumstances would have to unfold to tempt his return to the touchline, he confessed he feels no immediate pull toward coming back. ā€œIt's unclear to me, My present work fulfills me,ā€ he commented. ā€œI don't crave being a coach; No desire to be during downpours for two-and-a-half or three hours; No need for media briefings repeatedly each week or constant media duties weekly.

ā€œI don’t miss the dressing room in that context, but sitting in a restaurant alongside the squad enjoying conversation, I appreciate that. We won a lot of games so there was often positive atmosphere in the building. I still have the captain's chuckle vividly recalled for example.ā€

Praise for His Successor

Klopp was full of praise of the current boss, acknowledging his role for the tweaks that took the title in the previous season. Liverpool have lost four consecutive matches in every contest post heavy investment, but he rubbished the notion that it might signal a slump.

ā€œ[Liverpool have] an incredible striker such as Wirtz, doubters will be silenced if you use the wrong words. An outstanding player. The French striker, superb talent. It’s a really good well-judged squad. Fans shouldn't fret about Liverpool, they'll bounce back.ā€

Emotional Tribute for Diogo Jota

Klopp also spoke emotionally about the death of Diogo Jota, whom he brought in while in charge, and its impact at the club. The forward died tragically in a vehicle collision with his brother in July.

ā€œCan you substitute a person like him? It goes beyond his on-field talent, his personality mattered. It's hard to picture the dressing room absent his presence. I find it difficult to discuss on this topic. It was an incredible shock for all the boys as well. Nobody at Liverpool would cite it as an excuse though it's a fact. Entering the changing area where his spirit remains. Coping with it on a personal level is not easy. Overwhelming.ā€
